I am submitting this outline as part of a coloring contest. This is the design for my next big tattoo, a japanese style thigh piece. I am having a lot of diffuculty creating a color scheme I like so I want to see what everone else can come up with. The winner will recieve a custom tattoo design by yours truly. Please be sure you post a link to any creations made from this outline here or on my front page [link] . Thanks in advance and good luck!

6-8-04 Update: I've replaced the image with a much cleaner and more user friendly outline! Enjoy.

wow that's a beautiful design even as just the outline...are u looking for a particular type of theme other than a kick filled traditional japanses style? i mean earth? water? wind? fire?...sometimes elemental basis's can really bring out meanings underlying designs and such :)

Thanks so much! I kinda want it to have an earthy feel to it, my only conflict is that I'm not a big fan of green at all. In legend the Ki Rin was master of the lands, so caring and compassionate for it's fellow living creatures that when it walked it stepped so lightly as to never even bend a blade of grass. The bottom half of the design I want to just be traditional black faded cloud designs, but I am open to ideas for the colors of the 'sunset' petals behind the Ki Rin's head, the lotus blossums and the Ki Rin itself is the most difficult for me to come up with colors for. I hope you will enter my coloring contest! I'm very excited to see what others come up with! Thanks again!
